Former player Jerry Cotter sadly passed away after a short illness on 9th January 2010.
Jerry played with Constitution in the late 1940’s and 50’s and was full back on the 1951 Munster Junior Cup winning team, captained by Charlie Connolly, that defeated Old Crescent in the final. He continued to be a great supporter of the club and rarely missed a game at Temple Hill.
He loved all sports and was a life-long member of Muskerry Golf Club. He played hurling with Glen Rovers winning a County medal in 1948. But rugby football and the club were his great passion, and appropriately his family requested that the club jersey drape his coffin at his removal.
Jerry was pre-deceased in recent months by his brothers Willie and Jimmy, who were also prominent sportsmen. Jimmy played with Constitution also, while Willie won FAI Cup medals in 1951 & ’53 with Cork Athletic and also played with Cork United.
