Score: Cork Constitution FC 54 V 24 Galwegians
Venue: Templehill
Date: Sat 14th November 2009

Constitution scored a big win over a gallant Galwegians side under lights at Temple Hill on Saturday evening. The Con backs put on a show scoring eight tries, but Galwegians never gave up and scored three tries of their own.

Galwegians took the lead after 5 minutes with a penalty before Simon Barry scored Con’s first try after 8 minutes. Galwegians hit back with a try and conversion to retake the lead, but Simon Zebo and Conor Desmond scored tries for Con before the break. Darragh Dunne converted both to leave Con ahead 19-10 at half time.

Barry and Zebo scored two fine tries in the 48th and 51st minutes for Dunne to add the points and push Con out to 33-10. However, Galwegians dug deep and replied with two converted tries to close to 33-24. Not to be outdone, the Con threequarters continued their onslaught and finished with three tries from Eoin O’Donnell, Conor Desmond, and when Robert Clude was impeded as he followed up his own kick ahead, a penalty try was awarded. Dunne (2) and Zebo completed the total with the conversions.
