Constitution overcame a gallant Kanturk side at Temple Hill on Sunday morning to advance to the semi final of the Mick Barry Cup.
Kanturk scored in the opening minutes following a blocked down clearance. Brendan Cotter got the touchdown and John Cronin converted. But once Con go the ball moving they ran in tries regularly to have the game sewn up by the interval. Fergus Rowan got their first try after 5 minutes. Jack O’Sullivan scored two tries in the 15th and 19th minutes and Rory O’Sullivan scored three tries in the 10 minutes before half time. In between John O’Donovan got in for a try in the right corner. Simon Barry kicked three conversions for 41-7.
The second half was more even as Con played all their reserve players. Fergus Rowan got his second try in the 42nd minute and Brian O’Leary got the only other try in the 55th minute with a fine run to score at the posts. Barry added the conversions for a clear-cut win.
