Score: Cork Constitution FC 26 V 14 Crosshaven
Venue: Crosshaven
Date: Sun 1st November 2009
After heavy overnight rain it was decided to switch this fixture from Temple Hill to Crosshaven. Conditions were still wild and windy when the sides lined out, but they made the best of the sunshine in an enjoyable contest.
Con played against the conditions in the first half and took an early lead with a try by Rory O’Sullivan converted by Simon Barry. Robert Clune added a second try midway in the half, but Crosshaven kept in the game with three well struck penalties to leave the half time score 12-9 to the visitors.
The evergreen Robert Johnson scored when he finished a Robert Clune break with Barry adding the points to push Con out to 19-9. Crosshaven got in for a score with 15 minutes to go but Kevin Minihane closed out the game when he went over after a blind side break. Barry again added the points for a comfortable win.
