Constitution advanced in the Mick Barry Cup competition with a narrow victory over a very competitive Clonakilty at the Vale on Sunday.
Clonakilty led 6-0 at half time from two penalty goals, and while they scored two good tries in the second half, Con eclipsed them with three converted tries to take the spoils.
All the try scoring action was confined to the second half. Rory O’Sullivan and Tadg Buckley put Con ahead with tries, but Clonakilty hit back to re-take the lead with a couple of tries of their own. Con front row Eddie Quinn had the final say when he finished is style and, with Simon Barry unerring with the three conversions, Con advanced.
