Cork Constitution FC extends a very happy 100th birthday on 31st January 2010 to Elizabeth Wilkie in Texas, wife of the late Frank Wilkie, club captain in 1926/27 season.
Elizabeth is celebrating this marvellous milestone with her daughter Sharon and extended family in Corpus Christi, Texas, and the club wish to be associated with her great achievement and wish her many more happy years.
Her husband Frank won Munster Senior Cup medals with the club in 1922 & 1923 when Constitution defeated Garryowen in both finals, the first at the Mardyke in Cork and the second at the Market’s Field in Limerick. He also played on the losing team in the 1921 final.
Frank emigrated to US in 1928 and worked as an accountant with Deloitte in New York, Havana and Lima before retiring to the US in 1967. He died 22 November 1972.
